THE ONE DAY ROOM TRANSFORMATION
We diagnosed this Ravenswood Manor couple as traditional with a vintage flair. Our prescription: vintage brass finishes layered on dark hued woods and oodles of antique fabulousness.
In the bathroom we embraced vintage touches like a cluster of multi-sized antique frames and one large golden frame converted into a shadowbox with four open storage areas (stocked full of goodies from our shop). Stunning!
Custom made soft roman window treatments and vintage pieces turned the bedroom into an oasis of depth and textures. New bedding, throws and pillows dressed up the bed sassier than a teenage starlet at the Oscars.

Historically, the removal of unnecessary barriers has been an effective strategy for promoting harmony amongst the people. Tearing down the dividing wall between the kitchen and living room in this vintage Ravenswood home created a multi-functional area enjoyed by the residents, young and old. The fireplace, previously visible only from the living room, is now the focal point joining together the living room, open concept kitchen, entertainment area and work space.
Inspired Interiors custom designed the two-tiered island with a cooking zone and an eating zone. Yes, the table is permanently attached to the island–and to the floor. This space saving innovation delivered on two, often conflicting, homeowner requests: free up floor space and increase storage.
The one big splurge, handmade tiles from a craftswoman in California, added a subtle oomph to the kitchen backsplash with their MC Escher-esque repetitive onion pattern. Keeping the appliances and sink in the same locations kept costs down to allow for the exquisite tiles.
Let us restore harmony to your kitchen.

Alternate History Quote:
“If you seek peace, if you seek an open concept kitchen and living space for your family, if you seek a focal point for entertaining: Come here to this house! Homeowners, open this space! Homeowners, tear down this wall!”

Another fabulous Master bathroom makeover by Inspired Interiors! This Lincoln Park client had a dated bathroom with 5 shades of beige EVERYWHERE! The oversized beige bathtub was manufactured around the time Alexis Carrington embarked upon her third marriage on Dynasty (an 80′s series for the Gen X crowd). The vanity wall’s only focal point was yet another plain object: a large mirror. This wall lacked the design elements of dimension, texture, and color.
The lifeless vanity wall was replaced with coffee bean stained cabinetry and striking stained glass mosaic tiles. The tile and mirror assembly created a visual separation on his/her sink areas. Vertical orientation of tiles now draw attention to the spacious ceiling height of the room, while splashes of spa-like hues create an overall relaxing palette of colors.
In the new design, we introduced texture to the tub area with a soapstone pebble mosaic on the floor. The dated bathtub was exchanged for a stunning (and reasonably priced) vessel tub. Money was saved, and budget was met, by using existing plumbing locations, thus allowing the client to allocate funds to upgraded finishes like quartz countertops, frameless glass shower enclosure, natural stone flooring, etc…
Designing your bathroom doesn’t have to result in a “Carrington/Colby” type squabble. Call us today if you want a simple, yet stunning solution to your new bathroom design. We can help you find all the right answers, including budget solution.

It’s easy to get inspired by color, shape and function just walking down a city street or flipping through a fashion magazine. Inspiration is everywhere. From a bright blue sky or warm yellow sunrise to a modern high rise or country church. But how can you transfer the inspiration from the outside world to your home? One way is to try deciding what type of architecture and shapes inspire you. Love the straight and sleek lines of a skyscraper? Try adding stainless steel in either your countertops or appliances. Perhaps you enjoy the texture and country elegance of paneling. Try adding beadboard to backspash, island, or wainsscoting. Inspiration is personal but it’s also easy to feel overwhelmed deciding what to use and how to put options together in your space. Let Inspired Interiors help focus your inspiration into home design that reflects you– inside out.
PARK RIDGE, IL – Almost four years after moving into her home Mrs. Jones* had not gotten around to updating the dining room. Despite the change in furniture, the room still reflected of the style of previous homeowner, not this busy working mom. With an upcoming family celebration on the calendar, something needed to be done!
It all began one Saturday simply with help on color selection but what resulted later was a beautiful room transformation. Despite an overall vague idea of her stylistic desires, one thing Mrs. Jones did know was that she was tired of the cranberry red color and wanted anything other than red. She really wanted a color that was interesting and different from what everyone else was choosing. Inspired Interiors delivered by using Benjamin Moore’s “Mink Violet” on the walls.
